Fraxel CO2 Laser in Utah | Trilogy Medical Center

Fraxel CO2 lasers are one of the best lasers on the market today. Lasers have been around for several years and lucky for all of us the technology just keeps getting better and better and at Trilogy, we want to bring you and the entire Salt Lake City area the best. What lasers are able to accomplish with minimal pain and downtime is incredible. You are going to love what this laser can do for you. The results on your skin will be dramatic. If you want your skin to be improved in a noticeably big way, this treatment might be what you are looking for.

What is a Fraxel fractional laser? How does it work?

This type of laser separates one beam of light into a thousand tiny beams. These tiny beams penetrate deeply into your skin. Then your skin repairs itself where each tiny beam “damaged” your skin, revealing newer, younger, smoother skin. These tiny beams also stimulate your skin to create more collagen which also contributes to younger, fuller skin.

What skin issues does this type of laser treat?

  • Any type of scarring, including acne scars.
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Sun-damaged skin
  • Discoloration
  • Skin resurfacing

Can this laser be used in conjunction with other treatments?

It can be used with fillers like BotoxJuvedermRestylane, and Sculptra, just not on the same day.

How long does it take to see results? How long do the results last?

You will see some results immediately. Full results take 3-6 months to see because it takes time for your skin to heal and your body to make collagen. The results from this procedure will be worth waiting for.

How long results last depends on you. After the procedure, you will need to protect your skin from the sun. If you take care of your skin, the results can be long-lasting. (Simonsezit)

What is the day of the procedure like? Does it hurt? Is there downtime afterward?

On the day of the procedure, you will need about a 2-hour block of time and the rest of the day off. You will have some healing time with this procedure. First, you come to our office and we apply some numbing cream. We leave the numbing cream on for about an hour to numb your skin. After the hour, your skin should feel prickly and tingly. Then, we have you lie down and we perform the treatment. The laser can feel hot but we will be blowing cold air on the area being treated to minimize this effect. You may experience mild to moderate pain during this procedure which lasts about 30 minutes. (Phentermine)

Afterward, your skin will probably feel sunburned and look red and blotchy. The rest of the day, you will gently ice your skin for about 10 minutes out of every hour. Bags of frozen peas work really well.

Downtime can vary according to your lifestyle and schedule. We can customize what we do. For example, we can penetrate more deeply for the best results.

This type of treatment may require a week of downtime. (jordan-anwar) We can also go for a more shallow treatment. The downtime for this type of treatment might be just a few days but you would probably need to repeat the treatment later to get the full benefit.

It takes 2-7 days for your skin to heal and peel. After that, you can begin wearing makeup.

Your skin may look a little bit pink for several weeks afterward.

Allow at least 2 weeks from your treatment before weddings or family pictures.
