The Science of Hair Restoration

The powerful science behind the procedure is quite simple. The first thing we do is remove a small amount of blood. The blood will then be put in a centrifuge. This centrifuge will separate the different parts of the blood. After that, the platelet-rich plasma is mixed with a formula that enhances it’s natural growth properties. The mixture is then injected into the scalp. Patients begin to see results in 4-6 weeks. Several treatments may be necessary to get maximum results. *Results vary from person to person.

Cells That Stimulate Hair Growth

PRP Therapy uses a combination of five separate growth factors that work in harmony with one another to maximize their effect. Here is a summary of each growth factor and what it does.

Platelet-rich growth factor, or PDGF, helps stimulate the growth of blood vessels. It also helps new skin form.

Transforming growth factor, or TGF-B, helps control cell growth. Vascular endothelial Growth, or VEGF, helps new blood vessels form.

Epidermal growth factor, or EGF, helps promote the growth of new cells. It also helps new collagen and blood vessels form.

Fibroblast growth factor-2, or FGF-2, promotes the growth of new blood vessels and specialized cells.
