You’ve heard about Botox for wrinkles but did you know that it can also help with excessive sweating.
Trilogy Medical Center has treated patients with Botox who have axillary hyperhidrosis or in other words, sweaty armpits. Many who suffer with this condition feel embarrassed and have a lack of confidence.
They also have trouble finding the right clothes to wear and try to wear colors that won’t show the sweat as much. Some even need to pack an extra set of clothing. Botox injected into the armpit will stop the sweat. Doctors at Trilogy Medical Center say that once the procedure takes place you’ll notice the results within 4 to 7 days. The effects of the treatment last for 6 to 9 months and then will need to be repeated after that. Side effects include minimal pain and slight bruising at the injection site. Allergic reactions to Botox can happen but are extremely rare. There isn’t much down time after either. Our doctor suggests no exercising the day of the procedure but your regular activities can resume the next day.
