How Emsculpt Works
Emsculpt uses High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy in a handheld device about the size of an iron. This is the first time body contouring has been done using energy, specifically electromagnetic energy.
EMSCULPT is the only procedure to help both women and men burn fat, while toning the underlying muscle.
Emsculpt Targets Muscle
Emsculpt targets skeletal muscle, causing the muscles to have a large muscle contraction called a supramaximal contraction. All of the skeletal muscles in a targeted area contract at the same time. For example, when energy is applied to the abdomen, the rectus abdominis, the transverse abdominis, and the obliques all contract at the same time, in a way that exercise could never do.
Results in Days, Not Weeks
This contraction builds muscle and speeds up the rate your body uses or metabolizes fat in that area. Then voila! Your abdomen looks leaner and smaller in just days or weeks. It’s truly a medical breakthrough.
Emsculpt Before and Afters
The procedure takes 30 minutes. It requires no anesthesia or pain killer, because it does not hurt. It feels like your muscles are tingling and/or contracting like in a workout. There’s no recovery period needed.
You can expect results immediately after treatment. Most people do 4 treatments within 2 weeks and continue to see results for a few weeks after treatment ends.
As with any procedure, results will vary. EMSCULPT manufacturer, BTL, conducted extensive studies with over 200 patients on the abdomen and buttocks. Study results showed a substantial increase in muscle mass and a decrease in fat cells. Results were measured through CT scans, MRI, studies, before and after photos, and taking client measurements. Studies showed an average fat reduction of 19%.
Emsculpt is the perfect way to firm and tone your rear end and your abdomen. A bikini is a great way to show off your new toned body!
As is true with any procedure results can last a long time if you continue to maintain a healthy lifestyle. We recommend a “maintenance” session every 3-4 months to maintain an optimal result.
No. Although the muscle contractions are intense, patients don’t report it being painful. Some patients giggle through the entire 30-minute procedure! Some patients report muscle soreness the next 2 or 3 days after the procedure similar to doing a lot of crunches or sit-ups.
The most common areas are the buttocks and the abdomen. Our trained Emsculpt specialists can place the Emsculpt paddles on the upper abdomen for a series of treatments and do another set of treatments on the lower.
Patients often ask us if this procedure is right for them or what areas they should have done. The best way to know is to come in a talk with one of our EMSCULPT Specialists. We offer a free in-office consultation. Come in and chat. We will discuss your goals and help you decide on how and where you can use the Emsculpt treatment to look your best.

As the name suggests, fillers use one of a number of substances to fill in fine lines and wrinkles. A doctor will take the filler and inject it into the desired area. There are a variety of types of dermal fillers, and the results will last from 4 months to a year! Hyaluronic acid beauty fillers are the most popular ones on the market today. Other fillers consist of collagen and synthetic materials. Fillers can also be used to add volume, especially in the lips and chin. It’s important not to overdo lip fillers unless you want to look like a duck!
